Position Overview

What You’ll Do:
Develop & integrate software for our Linux-based clock systems
Design tools to support time synchronisation technologies
Create test cases using Python-based frameworks
Work closely with sales & application teams to support customers
What We’re Looking For:
Extensive C++ expertise (data structures, algorithms, real-world applications)
Experience building production software for Linux & Windows
Git, CI/CD, testing frameworks & modern dev practices
Strong communication & problem-solving skills
Nice to Have:
PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Go/Golang
UI/UX knowledge, React, HTML, CSS
Experience with PTP/NTP time synchronization protocols

Position Overview
Hoptroff is a cutting-edge technology company specialising in precision timing solutions. We serve global clients across finance and other sectors, simplifying time-critical operations. Our mission is to create certainty through precision time.
We’re a fast-growing team of innovative thinkers based in Shoreditch, and we’re looking for a hands-on Management Accountant to help build an exceptional internal finance function as we scale in the UK and US.
The Role: You’ll support our CFO in transitioning from an outsourced finance model to a streamlined in-house capability. This is a broad and rewarding role for someone confident with end-to-end finance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-cycle bookkeeping and management accounting (Xero)
Monthly entity & consolidated accounts (UK and US)
Invoicing, credit control, AP, reconciliations - average 10 sales invoices / 60 purchase invoices per month
VAT submissions, tax compliance, commission calculations
Budgeting, forecasting, cash management
Investor reporting and audit support
Driving finance process improvements
What We’re Looking For:
Part-qualified/newly qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
Proficient in Xero and Excel (lookups, pivot tables)
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Experience in a startup/SME preferred
Bonus: Knowledge of US financial reporting
